Memorial Day Social Tournament and Dinner
Monday, May 25, 2009 from 12 noon to 6:30 p.m. (Picnic starts at 5 p.m.)
PATC hosts two Stanford Social Tournaments every year, with one on Memorial Day and the other on Labor Day. Players enjoy an afternoon of tennis and a picnic dinner on the Stanford campus. The Club reserves eight courts adjacent to the Taube Tennis Stadium (the “varsity courts”). Over several rounds, everyone is matched with different partners and opponents at similar ability levels, in men's, women's and mixed doubles formats. Registration is limited to 24 men and 24 women, with priority given to PATC members.
For the picnic, the Club provides wine, soft drinks, and food. Non-playing guests of registered players are welcome to join us for dinner at a cost of $10. Guests must reserve their place at the dinner by the registration deadline.
The Taube Tennis Stadium is close to the Embarcadero Road and El Camino Real intersection. Tournament participants typically park in lots L-97, L-91, and L-95. These lots are open to the public at no charge on weekends and holidays, but access cannot be guaranteed when other Stanford events are taking place.
