WHAT IS DROP-IN TENNIS?
One of the Club's most popular social events is the Third Sunday Drop-In at the Rinconada Courts. Play starts promptly at 10 a.m. and is conducted in 40 minute shifts. Put your name on the sign-up sheet when you arrive at the courts, and you'll be matched up with three other players of similar ability for doubles or mixed doubles.
At the end of each shift, all players leave the courts and get assigned new opponents. If there are more 24 players, some people will have to sit out one or more shifts.
If it rains the night before or the morning of a Drop-In, you may want to call the Club's voicemail line (650-328-1911). You will hear a "weather-related" message if the event has been cancelled. The normal club information greeting means tennis is being played.
