UPDATE: During the summer of 2003, the Terman site became the home of the new Terman Middle School (the public library branch closed and the JCC moved to the Cubberley Community Center on Middlefield). Control of Terman's athletic facilities was also transferred from the city's recreation department to Palo Alto Unified School District. PAUSD made the addition of more basketball courts to the Terman site a priority in their plans for the school.
The end result was that two of the four tennis courts were removed and replaced by a set of basketball courts. When the school opened in the fall, the decision was made to prohibit the general public from using the courts (and the rest of Terman Park) between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on school days.
